Wisdom for Living [Proverbs8:11]
Knowledge and wisdom seem like me same thing at first, but they are totally different. knowledge means having information and understanding about a subject. This is acquired by self-study or at school. However, wisdom is the ability to make sensible decisions or judgments even without knowledge, and this is acquired throught the help of the Holy Spirit.
In the Old Testament, God gave wisdom to Solomon. It does not mean that solomon knew everything in the world. Whenever Solomon had a problem, he would have wisdom to solve the problem.
One day two prostitutes came to King Solomon seeking justice.
They lived in the same house. One of them had a baby three days after the other one's baby was born. One of them, however, killed her baby by mistake. She exchanged the dead baby with the other woman's baby
and pretended to be innocent. Both claiming the living baby went to King Solomon for a trail, King Solomon tested each mother's love, discerned the real mother, and returned the living baby to its mother.
King solomon sloved this problem with wisdom, although he did not have scientific knowledge such as the DNA test of today.
How can we have this kind of wisdom?
When we graft ourselves into Jesus who is the source of wisdom, we become wise.
Dr. D. W. Kenyon says that Christian countries in Europe have produced a great number of inventions and discoveries and have become rich. New things have been discovered and invented because their people belived in Jesus and acquired wisdom.
Many people say negative words, " I don't have wisdom. I cannot do it." The Lord, however, does not work when we speak negative words. When we are grafted into Jesus who is wisdom, and when we depend upon Him,
we will receive unimaginable wisdom to solve problems in our family, business, and our daily living.
